Toddler Behavior Struggles?
Try This...
Are you struggling with toddler behavior issues? I recently came across a very effective and down-to-earth audio course, which might just what you're looking for. It's called:
Talking To Toddlers
In a nutshell the idea behind Talking To Toddlers is this:
Persuasion - not force - works best with toddlers ...and this course will show you how. In this review I'm going to talk about - What this course is
- What's good about it
- What's not so good about it
- What it costs & if it's actually worth buying
What is it?Talking To Toddlers is an audio programme which helps you apply persuasive techniques to solving todddler behavior problems, and having a more powerful influence over your child in general. Have you ever walked out of a electrical store/travel agents etc with more than you intended to purchase? You probably wondered why the apparently cheesy/dim sales assistant managed to get you to part so easily with your hard-earned cash. The answer is that effective salespeople have a set of subtle yet powerful techniqes - and you can learn them too, to manage those never-ending toddler behavior issues . Imagine how much easier these techniques are to use with toddlers than cynical adults! It is divided into 11 fifteen-minute audio recordings - it is suggested that you listen to 1 a day. This is the most effective method, because there are quite a few new oddler behavior ideas to take on board. The course comes with printed notes summarising the main points of each section, so you don't have to write anything down (hurray!). Who created it? Chris Thompson, a Dad and self-taught expert in language patterns and influence.
What's Good About It?1. This is a really original course. I thought I knew everything about managing toddler behavior, but there are lots of ideas here that I had never been aware of. For example there are lots of effective ways to:- Use questions instead of threatening punishment
- Make your toddler think positively
- Get your child to take discipline seriously.
- Hide commands in stories
A lot has been said about NLP (neuro-linguistic programming), but I've never yet seen anyone apply it to young children. My favourite part is where he explains how to turn those constant Nos into Yeses with the aid of 3 simple questions. My son was going through a really defiant stage at the time and it became really quite amusing to turn him from No man into Yes man in about 20 seconds flat!
2. It's practical and straightforward - Chris Thompson shows you all the necessary steps to achieve what he teaches. There are plenty of real life examples of managing toddler behavior, and you can tell he has been through the same problems we all experience as parents.Really anyone can turn so many potential conflicts into win-win situations.
3. These days we live in a world overloaded with information. It's all too easy to read or listen to great ideas like these, think "Wow!" - then before you know it, forget them. This won't happen with Talking To Toddlers because you are encouraged to only listen to one section a day (thus preventing info-overload) and the notes have practical exercises too.
4. Many of the toddler behavior ideas in this course can be used with older children. After all, the basic principles come from the science of persuasion - principles thatcan be found everywhere in modern sales techniques.
One thing I will say. You must be willing to question how you do things to a certain extent. But that has to be a good thing - questioning ourselves can only lead to better parenting.
What's Not So Good About It?A few listeners might be initially put off by some of the terminology. Stick with it - In actual fact I don't think it matters whether you remember the names of the techniques because each is explained by clear example. I must stress that these ideas are not complicated or rocket science. Each section has some practical exercises (in the course notes) that get you to put the ideas into practice. In my opinion this is essential to the course, however he calls this homework, which I personally found really offputting. You just have to give it a different name!
What Does It Cost? ...And Is It Worth Buying? This audio course costs $47 dollars - at the time of writing there is a special offer at $29 dollars (£18.37). Do I think it's worth the money? Absolutely, and that goes for $29 or $47. I truly believe that there are some ideas worth their weight in gold here. One thing many parents forget is this: if you can manage toddler behavior while your child is young, then you build the foundations for dealing better with those inevitable behavior issues that older children and teenagers often present. $47 to nip all those problems in the bud is money well spent in my opinion. The other thing I like about it is the money-back guarantee - so if it doesn't live up to your expectations, you have nothing to lose. You can hear one of the audio lessons completely free and decide for yourself here
